Vectrex Mini interview - David Oghia talks up the nostalgic vector powerhouse

Having been wowed by the news of the Vectrex Mini at Gamescom , I rushed off some questions to VectrexOn's main man  David Oghia . After a post-event, well earned, break, he's kindly given us a lot of detail about the project and some new images of the unit to share.  His story mirrors mine somewhat, Vectrex represents a glowing, unaffordable, obelisk of gaming power from our youth! But he's had the energy and drive to do something about it, and met the right people to get the job done!  What first got you interested in Vectrex and what spawned the idea of a Mini version? I’ve always been passionate about retro-gaming, but my first love was computers rather than consoles — the ZX81, then the Commodore 128. Freedom Wars counts down the years in Remaster opening trailer

Announced back in September, Freedom Wars Remastered is on its way from the Vita to surviving platforms early next year. On the 13th anniversary of the Japanese Vita launch, Sony is treating us to a PlayStation specific opening cinematic, showing off all the natty visual enhancements and laying down the plot, literally by the numbers, for the few non-Vita owners out there.

Freedom Wars Remastered

Freedom Wars Remastered from Namco is also on the way to Switch and Steam, but I guess the bulk of interest will be on the PlayStation where the game feels right at home for the armies of God Eater and OG Monster Hunter players. Battling giant mechanoid creatures in the wastelands between the Panopticon cities, Freedom Wars was perfect for tight tactical multiplayer battles, and hopefully nothing has changed this time around as players try to carve the years off their prison sentences. Original review, still on the Vita PSN for £19.99.

The release is only a few weeks away across the 9th or 10th of January - see you in the badlands!
