PSP2, Switch 2 and an Xbox handheld... a brighter portable future?

Tokyo Xanadu eX+ rises up on Switch via Aksys

Falcom's Tokyo Xanadu on the Vita was a struggle for me, falling flat in characters, enemies and tone compared to the might of Persona 4 Golden. Will Tokyo Xanadu eX+ fare better on the Switch, with a June launch coming for the uprated title with a fresh localisation?

The action role-playing game comes to western Switch consoles thanks to Aksys who announced a raft of titles on their Twitch livestream. They only showed the anime trailer, so don't get too excited, and the sweet looking physical release. Apart from the new localisation, I'd guess it is the same as the PS4 update to the Vita original.

Tokyo Xanadu starts a decade after a colossal earthquake devastated the city, which has since been rebuilt. "However, behind the veil of this newly rebuilt metropolis lies another world, one with a sinister secret. The earthquake that originally destroyed Tokyo was actually caused by the emergence of a mysterious and lethal shadow world known as Eclipse. Now, action must be taken to thwart the legions of Eclipse and ensure the protection of peace!" As the blurb goes.

Maybe now I've got Persona out of my head, I can enjoy with a fresh mind. Looking at some Vita gamplay, hopefully they've tidied up the really annoying battle "yips" and "hups" too!
