Lara Croft and the Tomb Raider empire is everywhere at the moment with remasters and even Nike trainers.
But if you want the original experience, Evercade is the place to be with both The Last Revelation and Chronicles lined up as the next Tomb Raider Collection on a new GigaCart release.
They celebrate the 1999/2000 era for Core Design's pin-up legend, when she was expanding her moves and world, dipping her toes in Egypt's Nile. The Chronicles are a set of left-over ideas from Revelation, but still fun to see what the original team was dreaming up.
The cart arrives by boring post and not some deeper quest in April. And there's a bonus in the form of a brand-new version of a special level, previously only available for home computers. This marks quite a leap from Evercade's last announcement of the 70s/80s Atari Arcade Collection 2. That's all part of the fun of the Evercade concept.
I'm still wading my way through the first set of adventures, and love the gorgeous environments and atmosphere as much as the gameplay and many deadly plummets.
