Vectrex Mini interview - David Oghia talks up the nostalgic vector powerhouse

Having been wowed by the news of the Vectrex Mini at Gamescom , I rushed off some questions to VectrexOn's main man  David Oghia . After a post-event, well earned, break, he's kindly given us a lot of detail about the project and some new images of the unit to share.  His story mirrors mine somewhat, Vectrex represents a glowing, unaffordable, obelisk of gaming power from our youth! But he's had the energy and drive to do something about it, and met the right people to get the job done!  What first got you interested in Vectrex and what spawned the idea of a Mini version? I’ve always been passionate about retro-gaming, but my first love was computers rather than consoles — the ZX81, then the Commodore 128. I only really discovered the console world in the late 90s, which is when I got my very first Vectrex. Xperia Play Launch Day News

Well, after all the fun yesterday, let's keep rolling to see what Sony Ericsson, stores, developers and other contributors to the whole Xperia Play party have to offer today. (Oh, - quick "yay!" for the 200th post!) - Updates at the top throughout the day:

16:00 - Remember to download your free game - From the press release, "In addition Sony Ericsson is happy to confirm that Asphalt 6 – the latest instalment of one of the leading and top-selling racing games will be available for free." Check out the video.

13:00 - News from Canada where the Xperia Play will launch at the end of the month.

12:00 - There's a complete list of 60 Xperia Play games doing the rounds, I'll link to it to save space.

11:00 - PSOne games now available on the PSN store, titles include: Syphon Filter, Destruction Derby, Medievil, Jumping Flash and Cool Boarders 2 available for £3.99 each. Wonder if the Square titles will still be £7.99 when they hit.
