June Update: PlayStation 6 and PlayStation Portable future visions

 The recent PlayStation video about the "simulated" technology in development, discussed between AMD and Sony engineers that will power the PlayStation 6 was interesting from a geek point of view. But from a gameplay perspective, there is - IMO - no need for a PlayStation 6 for another few years. Especially with the limp Xbox is-it-isn't-it launch .  June 2026 Update : The latest snippet of gossip for Sony's next-gen systems is a modular/external drive that will connect to both devices. Allowing installation on the portable of physical games, and reducing the cost of the PS6 by making the Blu-ray an accessory (like the PS5 Slim).  I prefer the idea of a dedicated dock on the PS6 that connects the next Portable to your entire PSN library, and they'd better make it work as an extra controller, but I'm sure there are practical benefits to the extra drive.   That should also boost sales of PS4 and PS5 physical games, especially on the second-hand market, as folk...

Meet the empty streets of Persona 4 Revival

Among the greatest PS2/Vita titles, Persona 4 (Golden) is the latest Atlus title to get the remaster treatment with Persona 4 Revival. As one of the best games on any platform, it deserves a revisit along with the rest of the Persona series for those who only jumped on in the 5 era. 

But the teaser is just the empty streets, missing the characters and their emotions that make it such a stellar game. 

2026 update: With most Persona updates announced in early June, expect the next batch of information to come out around, then likely coinciding with a planned Xbox Showcase, likely a Japanese Switch 2 event and even maybe a sneaky PlayStation reveal to cover all the bases. 

Persona 4 Revival

Shown off at the weekend's Xbox event, Persona is coming to PlayStation and presumably Switch 2 given its booming sales. The teaser trailer only shows familiar empty streets but as any player knows, the characters make this adventure so tight and loveable. 

Love the tag line, "The chances of your screen turning into a portal to another world are low, but never zero." In terms of release and other Persona work, a message from Atlus' Director Kazuhisa Wada  says...
