PlayStation Portal model in black on the way

Sony aims to give PlayStation owners some choice with news of a black PlayStation Portal model on the way. Not only would that match most Vita models in existence, but it gives completionists the opportunity for a white, grey and black set of Portals. 

Hot on the heels of the 30th anniversary model (sold out, above) in OG PlayStation grey, it will release very soon. The same price, the same system, but providing some choice for those with a preference for noir home entertainment and gadgets, likely as in the black DualSense below but with the massive screen in the middle. 

With cloud gaming now in beta, PlayStation Portal is a now more viable proposition for gamers, and will likely be a greater force in 2025, before the PlayStation 5 Portable arrives, likely in 2026. 

It looks like the PlayStation 5 audio gear, the Pulse Elite and Pulse Explore gadgets will get a similar paint job, expect official news and some proper images next week.  

Nothing will come close to the gorgeous raft of Japanese PSP, Vita and 3DS colours & decal models, back when gaming was fun. Although the bright roster of DualSense controllers is looking good, but good to see a little effort in the handheld world.

My one thought with all these models, is why not have eInk displays embedded in the handles to make them ultimately customisable for any game developer or publisher.
