Bitmap Bureau vs Terminator 2D is pure pixel retro-modern arcade heaven

One of my favourite developers Bitmap Bureau is getting the rewards for a small but perfectly formed stellar output (Xeno Crisis, Final Vendetta). They've taken on the challenge of bringing one of cinema's mightiest heroes to the pixel-laden screen. Not to be too fanboy, but damn this looks gorgeous!

Terminator 2D

Terminator 2D: No Fate is a let's-make-a-classic-90s-game-on-modern-systems mission with one of the world's biggest/best movies. The thumping soundtrack, the metallic clangs, the Guns n' Roses nod, the one-liners. Here's hoping for a few MIDI lines of You Could Be Mine!

Every moment is engrained in the minds of 90s kids (young or old) and should be bringing a smile to the faces of any gamer later this year, for all platforms, published by Reef Entertainment, with a range of collectors editions to recoup the cost of that chunky license, it looks like quite the event that should put most AAA games and their ludicrous budgets to shame.

Packed with 2D action side-scroller with a retro-pixel look, Terminator 2D: No Fate brings Armageddon in September. With control of all the key characters, and a gorgeous retro-modern vibe, it deserves an arcade release or should come with a bit of sticky carpet to help recapture that experience.

Here's the trailer and a cool behind-the-scenes look at how "the team tackled the challenge of translating one of cinema’s most enduring cultural touchstones into a complete arcade experience, capturing the unforgettable scenes and moments that helped shape a generation."
