Latest sales charts from Japan, better news for the PS Vita?

The latest Media Create charts are out and show Little Busters sneaking into the Top 20 for the Vita while the PSP continues to roll out the hits with Yakuza Black Panther 2 in at No. 2 behind the juggernaut of Nintendo's Kid Icarus

01./00. [3DS] Kid Icarus: Uprising <ACT> (Nintendo) 132.526 / NEW
02./00. [PSP] Black Panther 2: Yakuza Ashura Chapter <ADV> (Sega) 104.937 / NEW
03./01. [NDS] Pokemon + Nobunaga's Ambition <SLG> (Pokemon Co.) 65.046 / 237.073 (-62%)

On the hardware front, the Vita is up a few hundred sales to 10,300, bringing it to 630,000 lifetime sales in Japan. The fact the PSP has six games in the charts to the Vita's one explains why the older machine is still selling twice as many units.

PS3    25.750
PSP    19.875
PSV   10.302

  1. I wonder how much longer are they going to make the PSP hardware?

  2. Well, Sony made PSones until 2006 - 12 years after the original PlayStation launch, they still sell PS2s today. So, I suppose the PSP is good for another four years, especially with its continued popularity in Japan, and all those UMDs floating around.
