Possible new PlayStation Portal model pays homage to the Vita's OLED

While much of the focus on PlayStation's next steps is the PS6 and PS6 Portable , the two-year old PlayStation Portal could be getting a revamp according to those pesky internet rumours.  Update : Hints at pricing are around £/$250-299 for the new model, but everything remains deeply in rumours territory. Presumably the goal is to hit the 10% (currently 7%-ish) adoption rate among PS5 owners, something that would make it a bone fide hit gadget.   The recent February  PlayStation State of Play  saw no announcement. The Xperia Play phone is back as Ayaneo's Pocket Play

After the retro Pocket DMG, Ayaneo is lining up a launching-soon Kickstarter (the brand's first) to give the world another shot at liking Sony's Xperia Play design from 2011.

Update: A Kickstarter pre-launch page is now live listing features like the 6.8-inch OLED screen, camming in 2400 x 1080 resolution pixels with a 165hz refresh for buttery gaming.

Ayaneo pocket play

Likely an Android device and rather over-priced, enjoy the images and wait for the campaign to launch for an early-bird price.

Sure, the screen and processors will be to spec for retro and mobile games. But, as with many modern gadgets, will Ayaneo really do the R&D to master the slide mechanism or will it be a cheap clunky point of weakness?
