Vectrex Mini interview - David Oghia talks up the nostalgic vector powerhouse

Having been wowed by the news of the Vectrex Mini at Gamescom , I rushed off some questions to VectrexOn's main man  David Oghia . After a post-event, well earned, break, he's kindly given us a lot of detail about the project and some new images of the unit to share.  Update: the Vectrex Kickstarter is live and blew past its first funding goal in ab out 15 minutes, and approaching £450K and 2,500 backers in its first day.   His story mirrors mine somewhat, Vectrex represents a glowing, unaffordable, obelisk of gaming power from our youth! But he's had the energy and drive to do something about it, and met the right people to get the job done!  What first got you interested in Vectrex and what spawned the idea of a Mini version? Metal Mack, a Mega Drive and Neo Geo run-and-gun, funding on Kickstarter

I was going to plead for people to back Metal Mack from BitBeamCannon, but it has been funded within a day on Kickstarter. Still, there's still plenty of reason to chip in and enjoy this retro scroller run-and gun, and there's plenty of stretch goals to back.

Not a million miles from the likes of Mega Man, this looks like a fun title with a range of physical versions for 16-bit console owners and a Steam edition for modernistas.

And then, given it is funded, I think a nudge for an Evercade cart edition is also on the cards, perhaps with sister title Daemon Claw.

The world of the future is in peril! Professor Photon, a super scientific genius who invented helper bots, has to fix the problem. Mack, the professor's most uniquely original and advanced android, has volunteered to be converted into a fighting robot!

Delivery is planned for Summer 2027, so get backing and hope the world doesn't end before then!
