June Update: PlayStation 6 and PlayStation Portable future visions

The recent PlayStation video about the "simulated" technology in development, discussed between AMD and Sony engineers that will power the PlayStation 6 was interesting from a geek point of view. But from a gameplay perspective, there is - IMO - no need for a PlayStation 6 for another few years. Especially with the limp Xbox is-it-isn't-it launch .  June 2026 Update : The latest snippet of gossip for Sony's next-gen systems is a modular/external drive that will connect to both devices. Lillymo gets to the retro point with Saint Slayer: Spear of Sacrilege

Vita owners have found memories Lillymo, along with FuturLab and a hatful of other developers who cut their teeth on flinging pixels at the OLED screen.

Update: Lillymo is promising lots and lots of secrets in its latest post for Saint Slayer...

Now we've moved on, its good to see these companies still focused on what matters in gaming. And from the mind behind sci-fi-tinged Habroxia and Twin Breaker comes Saint Slayer: Spear of Sacrilege, a blood-drenched historical homage to the 8-bit era of horror-tinged, side-scrolling action.

Saint Slayer

In Saint Slayer, we play as the ex-soldier Rudiger, wielding the Spear of Sacrilege to save the Holy Roman Empire from the corrupt Catholic priest Father Pacer. Fighters wield spears in a Castlevania-inspired hack-and-slash adventure featuring a killer chiptune soundtrack, crunchy pixelated gore, and a relentless gothic atmosphere.

Travel through 21 handcrafted stages, alone or in 2-player co-op (with friendly fire!), and face down 7 monstrous bosses in your quest against a demonic uprising.

Saint Slayer: Spear of Sacrilege releases in April on PlayStation, Switch, Xbox, and PC via Steam, with a demo now out for the PC.

Currently playing on my Vita/PS3/PS4/PS5
