Vectrex Mini interview - David Oghia talks up the nostalgic vector powerhouse

Having been wowed by the news of the Vectrex Mini at Gamescom , I rushed off some questions to VectrexOn's main man  David Oghia . After a post-event, well earned, break, he's kindly given us a lot of detail about the project and some new images of the unit to share.  His story mirrors mine somewhat, Vectrex represents a glowing, unaffordable, obelisk of gaming power from our youth! But he's had the energy and drive to do something about it, and met the right people to get the job done!  What first got you interested in Vectrex and what spawned the idea of a Mini version? Deus Ex Augments the PS5

We've had System Shock 2 as a 25th anniversary remaster. And now Deus Ex is on the way, bringing the most imaginative titles of the Pentium-era for modern gamers.

Deus Ex delivered stealth options and augmentations into a market crammed with balls-out shooters, and felt like a maturing of the genre thanks to Warren Spector's deft touch and design.

The Ion Storm classic wrote the rulebook for the likes of Cyberpunk 2077 and is something I would love to revisit (the sequels never having quite clicked for me). And there's not long to wait with a February 2026 release date.

Or, you can play the Unreal Engine 1.0 original for like a quid on Steam! Thanks to Aspyr for the update, here's hoping for a sensible price.

Based on the trailer, it looks like a light touch rebuild, with the original landscape maintained for that slightly bleak look, but plenty of detail going into the characters, modern lighting and controls.
