Festive portable deals take off from Xbox Ally, Nintendo, PlayStation and Evercade

This page started for black Friday but has moved on as the deals come and go. I will update across the festive sales, as new portable hardware deals appear. I won't hype them as "pocket change" or "fire sale" like some sites, because that's bollocks.  December deals :  Evercade has 30% off various hardware, depending on the store, check the blog for details .  PlayStation Portal is currently £20 off on Amazon UK  (another £10 off for refurbs)  Update: Valve has jumped in with 20% off the Steam Deck LCD 256GB model (down to £279 in the UK) Update: Xbox Ally has various deals (pretty short-lived, but likely getting cut again for the post Christmas sale).  Update: PlayStation Portal has £20 off the range, bringing the white and black models down to £179, and 30th Anniversary Edition to £189. (Look out for another 5% off at checkout!)  First up is  Evercade offering a clutch of offers on hardware and games on Amazon and across other stores in Europ...

Evercade Indie Heroes 2 collection ready for physical

The launch of the Evercade VS console came with a monthly stream of indie titles as one of the bonuses for the big-screen version of the little console. For people sticking to the handheld Evercade, those games, plus a few more goodies, will soon be available for us in physical form on the Indie Heroes 2 collection.

Packing in a dozen retro-modern titles, there's bags of pixel fun in the follow up to the impressive Indie Heroes 1 collection, that offered many hours of fun with the likes of Flea and Alien Cat 2.

The new collection goes up for pre-order this week, arriving in January, the line-up includes these games from the Game of the Month VS promo:

  • Tapeworm Disco Puzzle - Lowtek Games
  • Nessy The Robot - Daniel T. Gaming
  • Reknum Souls Adventure - Nape Games
  • The Cowlitz Gamers’ Adventure Trilogy - Łukasz Kur and M-Tee
  • Anguna: Scourge of the Goblin King - Bite The Chili Productions
  • Eyra: The Crow Maiden - Second Dimension
  • Lunar Journey - Greenboy Games
  • Yeah Yeah Beebiss II - Rigg’d Games
  • Gelatanous: Humanity Lost - The Retro Room
And new to all gamers are an extra neat little collection of indies:
  • The Gruniożerca Trilogy - Łukasz Kur and M-Tee (3 hamster-based arcade games in 1)
  • Nix: The Paradox Relic - Dustin Huddleston (2D action adventure)
  • Beer Slinger - Second Dimension (a sort of tribute to the legendary Tapper)

Tucked away in the release is the news that Game of the Month series will return in 2023 for both Evercade VS and EXP users.
