Most developers are coding for PS4/PS5 and other platforms, they are smart people after all. The Vita has long been a purring cat on their lap or a farting old dog asleep on their feet, depending on their preference. But, still a much loved creature that can't be put down.
Update, a former Sony staffer on Reddit has added a lot of interesting insight about the Vita's slide into oblivion, which was a long time coming, and the company did little to halt.
Now Sony has taken out the bolt gun, here's what some of our favourite coders and publishers have to say. And what this means for their final games on the system...
Dugan, Tikipod, Astro Aqua Kitty
Will update the list as more come.
Others are taking the time to celebrate the Vita and all it means to a cadre of developers who share this unholy common bond. More are offering a few practical bots of advice, we'll see what last minute miracles come in, but it looks like the release list of mystery should now be renamed the release list of broken dreams.
Still love the PS Vita as much as ever! I hope PlayStation will one day return to handheld gaming. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/8wppbi7jWV

Publishers, if you have any games that have both PS4 & Vita versions that aren't cross-buy, consider talking to Sony to see if you can change them to cross-buy titles so that people can continue buying & enjoying the Vita version after the Vita store shuts down.

Not confirming or denying the report, but from a #gamedev perspective: losing access to legacy digital content also means losing a revenue source.
