This page started for black Friday but has moved on as the deals come and go. I will update across the festive sales, as new portable hardware deals appear. I won't hype them as "pocket change" or "fire sale" like some sites, because that's bollocks. December deals : Evercade has 30% off various hardware, depending on the store, check the blog for details . PlayStation Portal is currently £20 off on Amazon UK (another £10 off for refurbs) Update: Valve has jumped in with 20% off the Steam Deck LCD 256GB model (down to £279 in the UK) Update: Xbox Ally has various deals (pretty short-lived, but likely getting cut again for the post Christmas sale). Update: PlayStation Portal has £20 off the range, bringing the white and black models down to £179, and 30th Anniversary Edition to £189. (Look out for another 5% off at checkout!) First up is Evercade offering a clutch of offers on hardware and games on Amazon and across other stores in Europ...

The first Jaleco collection, announced today, brings a wide range of 8-bit and 16-bit NES/SNES entertainment to the Evercade. Here's a more detailed look at the games on offer in this decently varied mix.
Bases Loaded, a NES baseball effort letting us play ball in the fun-but-limited 8 bit style (used to love Hardball and RBI Baseball) with the added ability to anger a batter so they charge the mound and the infamous phantom mitt when pitching.
Astynax: The NES version of an arcade release from 1989, featuring a mix Greek and Arab mythology in a platform beat 'em up across various typical stages. The hero packs an axe and the longer he doesn't use it, the more powerful its charge becomes, ideal for bigger beasts.
Brawl Brothers from 1992 and the first SNES exclusive game in this release. Featuring a range of characters, moves and weapons to pick up, there's decent-sized fighters, plenty of background detail and cool fighting moves.
City Connection, aka Cruisin' in the west. Presumably the NES version of a mid-80s arcade driving game where players drive young Clarice in her Honda City hatchback to paint the highway platforms across 12 globally famous stages.
Earth Defence Force is the SNES version of the arcade shooter, where aliens have a secret weapon on the Moon ready to wipe out life on Earth, scrolling shooting ensues in what is reputed to be a tough beast of a game.
Super Goal! 2, a rather creaky looking mid-90s SNES up-and-down soccer game with Mode 7 scrolling and zoom to follow the action as teams battle it out for the title.
Totally Rad, a NES side-scrolling platformer and beat 'em up with fantasy elements, a leprechaun, surfer lingo for no obvious reason and some giant enemies to battle.
Rival Turf, aka Rushing Beat, an earlier relative of Brawl Brothers, its the typical rescue-the-kidnapped girlfriend affair with lots and lots of punching. Yes, its a poor man's Final Fight type game, but still fun its own way, even though this western version rips the plot out, so all the violence is totally aimless.
Operation Logic Bomb, a top down sci-fi shooter adventure on the SNES with a bit of plot to it about a mystery science facility that sudden starts reacting in a hostile way. Sent in to see what's going on, Hiro is sent in, in what looks one of the more intriguing games in the collection.
Ignition Factor. If you've played the modern Flame Over, you'll get the gist of this fire rescue game from the SNES with various equipment to pick and challenging rescue scenarios to beat. It got some pretty good reviews back in the day.
