Vectrex Mini interview - David Oghia talks up the nostalgic vector powerhouse

Having been wowed by the news of the Vectrex Mini at Gamescom , I rushed off some questions to VectrexOn's main man  David Oghia . After a post-event, well earned, break, he's kindly given us a lot of detail about the project and some new images of the unit to share.  His story mirrors mine somewhat, Vectrex represents a glowing, unaffordable, obelisk of gaming power from our youth! But he's had the energy and drive to do something about it, and met the right people to get the job done!  What first got you interested in Vectrex and what spawned the idea of a Mini version? I’ve always been passionate about retro-gaming, but my first love was computers rather than consoles — the ZX81, then the Commodore 128. I only really discovered the console world in the late 90s, which is when I got my very first Vectrex. Of course, I had seen it in stores back in 1983, but at that time it was far too expensive for me.  Today, I own five Vectrex systems at home. Vector-based games ...

PlayStation 5 reveal on June 11th

One tweet to excite them all? We'll get a first look at the PS5 design and exclusive games next week at a reasonable hour for Europe - yay! As for the Vita, well, its dead right? Sony don't care, but there are still some practical issues to be resolved.

UPDATE: The event has been delayed due to the political unrest in America, good luck over there! The new date is June 11th!

All I really want to know is will it support Remote Play on the Vita? Even though the new DualSense controller has all sorts of new gizmos. Or will there be a new Remote Play device to enable proper portable PlayStation gaming without the need for tying up my iPhone, using it and a DS4 locked together by a silly bit of plastic?

Answers on a postcard.

Sure, it will be superb and stylish. But with Sony being caned by Microsoft on the specifications and backwards compatibility front with XSX, Portable is really the only differentiator PlayStation had against Xbox in hardware terms. One it gifted to Nintendo when it mis-marketed the Vita completely.

Is there time for redemption, with a 5G/HD remote device, or is Sony so convinced people will buy walking zombie apocalypse simulators and quirky VR games forever?
DualSense for PS5
Opinions welcome.

Currently playing on my Vita/PS3/PS4/PS5
