June Update: PlayStation 6 and PlayStation Portable future visions

The recent PlayStation video about the "simulated" technology in development, discussed between AMD and Sony engineers that will power the PlayStation 6 was interesting from a geek point of view. But from a gameplay perspective, there is - IMO - no need for a PlayStation 6 for another few years. Especially with the limp Xbox is-it-isn't-it launch .  June 2026 Update : The latest snippet of gossip for Sony's next-gen systems is a modular/external drive that will connect to both devices. Rising Star bring Trailblazers to the Switch

After the impact of WipEout, there were loads of floating racing games hammering our screens. Then endless car racers with ever-improving visual fidelity, so much, so the magic of fantasy racing seems to have been lost.

Trailblazers might do a little to balance things out later this Spring, with a dash of cartoon racing with retro-futurish cars along bubblegum coloured tracks. Developer Supergonk has gone all out to produce a fun co-up racer, a track-painting mechanic to help boost your car when on that colour, with players working as a team to win!

Racing in teams of up to three-versus-three, players paint the track as they race, capturing key areas to dynamically change the racing line, then boosting on their team’s colour. Racers who drive with flair and style will also amass skill points to blaze their way to victory! Players can experience the blistering high-speed action with up to six players online, or locally via split-screen for up to four local players with additional online or CPU-controlled challengers.
