July Update: PlayStation 6 and PlayStation Portable future visions

 The recent PlayStation video about the "simulated" technology in development, discussed between AMD and Sony engineers that will power the PlayStation 6 was interesting from a geek point of view. But from a gameplay perspective, there is - IMO - no need for a PlayStation 6 for another few years. Switch sales up in Japan despite Monster Hunter World

Sales perk up in Japan for the first time this year according to Media Create figures. The Switch sold over 47,100 units last week despite no new releases and PS4 going crazy with 110,000 console sales and 1.24 million copies of Monster Hunter World flying off the shelves.

In its latest financial release, Nintendo announced a profits rise of 261% thanks to Switch, with 14.86 million device sold (now over 15 million) globally. Games sales are led by Super Mario Odyssey with over 9.07 million copies. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe sold 7.33 million, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sold 6.70 million and Splatoon 2 sold 4.91 million worldwide.
