July Update: PlayStation 6 and PlayStation Portable future visions

 The recent PlayStation video about the "simulated" technology in development, discussed between AMD and Sony engineers that will power the PlayStation 6 was interesting from a geek point of view. But from a gameplay perspective, there is - IMO - no need for a PlayStation 6 for another few years. Especially with the limp Xbox is-it-isn't-it launch .  July 2026 Update : Sony managed a cannon-fire sized self-inflicted injury by announcing the end of physical releases across the end of the PS5 era and the launch of the PS6. Vita and God Eater set for a good week in Japan

Culture Convenience Club's Tsutaya game rankings for this week suggest the Vita will get another number one on Wednesday, as the remake of God Eater is ahead of its PS4 cousin. With Yomawari peering into the gloom at No. 4

 God Eater 2 on PSP/Vita sold over 630,000 for Namco in 2013. God Eater 2 Rage Burst sold 275,000 on launch across PS4 and Vita earlier this year and ended up at over 400K. I suspect this remake won't go that high, and probably won't do much for hardware sales, but any boost would be good.
