July Update: PlayStation 6 and PlayStation Portable future visions

 The recent PlayStation video about the "simulated" technology in development, discussed between AMD and Sony engineers that will power the PlayStation 6 was interesting from a geek point of view. But from a gameplay perspective, there is - IMO - no need for a PlayStation 6 for another few years. Especially with the limp Xbox is-it-isn't-it launch .  July 2026 Update : Sony managed a cannon-fire sized self-inflicted injury by announcing the end of physical releases across the end of the PS5 era and the launch of the PS6. Just six days to Sony's Gamescom event, and you can watch it live

Sony has promised a greater showing for the Vita at Gamescom and you can watch to see if it delivers with the company putting up a live feed. With new games to be announced, the first sightings of several big titles likely, it really does look like make or break (as far as 2013 in the west is concerned) for Sony.


Will we see Killzone in action? What are the games that Capcom is so excited about? What is the mystery new game on Game Informer's cover that is delayed until after EA's own event? All will, hopefully, be revealed in less than a week.

One tip Sony, announcing LittleBigPlanet Karting as a Vita game won't be considered news in any shape or form.
