Vectrex Mini interview - David Oghia talks up the nostalgic vector powerhouse

Having been wowed by the news of the Vectrex Mini at Gamescom , I rushed off some questions to VectrexOn's main man  David Oghia . After a post-event, well earned, break, he's kindly given us a lot of detail about the project and some new images of the unit to share.  His story mirrors mine somewhat, Vectrex represents a glowing, unaffordable, obelisk of gaming power from our youth! But he's had the energy and drive to do something about it, and met the right people to get the job done!  What first got you interested in Vectrex and what spawned the idea of a Mini version? I’ve always been passionate about retro-gaming, but my first love was computers rather than consoles — the ZX81, then the Commodore 128. Capcom promises "an event to remember" for Gamescom

Capcom will be one of several publishers with major presences at the German show in August. With no Nintendo or Microsoft, Sony will be the lead hardware platform there, which kind of makes you hope that when Capcom promises a “biggest ever presence” and a "showcase of exclusive new content for its upcoming titles and promises it will be an event to remember.”

MCV is suggesting that games on show may include Resident Evil 6, Lost Planet 3 and the British developed DMC Devil May Cry. But, frankly, there's only one game Vita owners want to see, and that's Monster Hunter Vita.

Will Capcom wave its big dragons to mere Europeans, or will the company hold out for Tokyo Games Show instead where rabid Japanese games are eager to snap it up? Or, will the long painful silence continue?

Almost exactly a year ago Capcom promised four releases. Is it about to make good on that promise? There have also been hints from Sony that suggest the torture is finally nearing an end.
