Vectrex Mini interview - David Oghia talks up the nostalgic vector powerhouse

Having been wowed by the news of the Vectrex Mini at Gamescom , I rushed off some questions to VectrexOn's main man  David Oghia . After a post-event, well earned, break, he's kindly given us a lot of detail about the project and some new images of the unit to share.  His story mirrors mine somewhat, Vectrex represents a glowing, unaffordable, obelisk of gaming power from our youth! But he's had the energy and drive to do something about it, and met the right people to get the job done!  What first got you interested in Vectrex and what spawned the idea of a Mini version? I’ve always been passionate about retro-gaming, but my first love was computers rather than consoles — the ZX81, then the Commodore 128. I only really discovered the console world in the late 90s, which is when I got my very first Vectrex. Japanese charts get two Vita games in the top 20, hardware sales firmly up

Here we go again, and this week in Japan we have a PS Vita game near the top 10, the latest in the long running Pro Baseball Spirits series comes in at No. 11, some way behind the PSP and PS3 versions. The PSP's Yakuza title is down from No. 2 last week but still doing a good effort among the horde of 3DS titles.

Little King's Story makes a poor entry in at 19, selling just over 7,000 copies

And as for the hardware front, PS Vita sales are up nearly 2,000 to 12,105 on the week, not sure if that's because of a few games coming out this and next week, or if Sony's bundling of a 4GB memory card with the console has kicked in yet.
