Possible new PlayStation Portal model pays homage to the Vita's OLED

While much of the focus on PlayStation's next steps is the PS6 and PS6 Portable , the two-year old PlayStation Portal could be getting a revamp according to those pesky internet rumours.  Update : Hints at pricing are around £/$250-299 for the new model, but everything remains deeply in rumours territory. Namco waves DLC and Ridge Racer Gold Passes in our faces

I was never really sure about the idea to split Ridge Racer into a cheap, bare game and tack on the DLC after. Of all the formats to do it on, Ridge is the weakest of the racing games to do it to. Still Namco is persisting in this approach with the Euro launch, but adding a Gold Pass to make getting the content easier for early buyers.

The Fatalia will expand your Ridge Racing garage

At launch, and while stocks last, those who buy the retail version of Ridge will find a code in the box for a free ‘RIDGE RACER Gold Pass’ which unlocks a wealth of extra DLC content. The same Gold Pass is also available to all fans who purchase the digital version of the game on PlayStation®Network no later than March 31st. It will also be available for purchase on the PlayStation®Store for 6.99€ for all other players to enjoy. The Gold Pass will let players unlock the following DLC content as soon as they are released during February and March:

  • Five new cars: PROMESSA, ELENIE, DIGNISTAR, FATALITA and MELTFIRE
  • Three new courses: Old Central, Sunset Heights and Lost Ruins
  • Two new music tracks: NEW SONGS PACK 01
  • One new extended music mix: LONG MIX BGM 01

There will also be demos and DLC for Shinobido 2 and Touch My Katamari, adding eight fearsome bosses to Shinobido and missions for Katamari including  Snowman!, Shopping, Maid, Downhill, PAC-MAN and Soccer and Downhill with Toro.
