July Update: PlayStation 6 and PlayStation Portable future visions

 The recent PlayStation video about the "simulated" technology in development, discussed between AMD and Sony engineers that will power the PlayStation 6 was interesting from a geek point of view. But from a gameplay perspective, there is - IMO - no need for a PlayStation 6 for another few years. Especially with the limp Xbox is-it-isn't-it launch .  July 2026 Update : Sony managed a cannon-fire sized self-inflicted injury by announcing the end of physical releases across the end of the PS5 era and the launch of the PS6. PS Vita Hardware Boxes Revealed

A lucky snapper has taken a photo of what could be the final PS Vita boxes - I don't remember seeing these at TGS - but could have missed them. To be honest, they look a little subtle,  rather like most mobile phone product boxes - you know those things that the PS Vita claims to be trying not to be.

Still, the original PSP boxes where hardly shouting out loud - and it won't be long until bigger, bolder game bundles hit with more striking visuals. I do like the blue hue, but think it could be brighter to match the colour of the PS Vita game boxes.
