Vectrex Mini interview - David Oghia talks up the nostalgic vector powerhouse

Having been wowed by the news of the Vectrex Mini at Gamescom , I rushed off some questions to VectrexOn's main man  David Oghia . After a post-event, well earned, break, he's kindly given us a lot of detail about the project and some new images of the unit to share.  His story mirrors mine somewhat, Vectrex represents a glowing, unaffordable, obelisk of gaming power from our youth! But he's had the energy and drive to do something about it, and met the right people to get the job done!  What first got you interested in Vectrex and what spawned the idea of a Mini version? I’ve always been passionate about retro-gaming, but my first love was computers rather than consoles — the ZX81, then the Commodore 128. I only really discovered the console world in the late 90s, which is when I got my very first Vectrex. Super Sexy PSP RPG "ToHeart2 Dungeon Travelers" Rates Well in Japan

Wow, based on a very popular anime, ToHeart2 from AquaPlus is one of the more risque titles doing the rounds, but while that would condemn it to a tacky low score over here, in Japan, Famitsu has given it a 30/40 score, clearly focusing on the in-depth gameplay and party building.

Article updated as the original screenshot archive and video have long been deleted. Added the Vita one in its place. The PSP edition is an update to a PS2 title, with added character and party special skills.

Update: A Vita version arrived in 2015, doing modest sales, selling around 40,000 copies in Japan and was given a (lightly edited) western release by Atlus/NIS America. Dungeon Traveler 2-2 was released on Vita in 2017, in Japan only, selling 45,000 units on release. 

Me, I think I'll stick with the Demon Gaze games, thanks.

Shutsugeki, another girl-focused heavy-combat (tanks, planes and boats etc) fared less well scoring just 21. Chances of either game making it over about zero!
