July Update: PlayStation 6 and PlayStation Portable future visions

The recent PlayStation video about the "simulated" technology in development, discussed between AMD and Sony engineers that will power the PlayStation 6 was interesting from a geek point of view. But from a gameplay perspective, there is - IMO - no need for a PlayStation 6 for another few years. Especially with the limp Xbox is-it-isn't-it launch .  July 2026 Update : Sony managed a cannon-fire sized self-inflicted injury by announcing the end of physical releases across the end of the PS5 era and the launch of the PS6. Rumor - Uncharted for PSP2

Slap a big fat "rumor" tag on this one, but QJ.net reckons that Uncharted is coming to PSP2 in some form. Now its not hard to imagine the PS3 Uncharted 3 game coming on both platforms, so you can take the same game on the go. Or, for two different games to cross-feed content and extras into each other as you work through both stories.

What is needed is for Sony to create ways of getting PS3 owners to want a PSP2 as well to attract new gamers. This would be one way for all those who complained about the PSP being a lesser format to get a new perspective, all it would take is dual-sticks, matching visuals and enough incentive to play both versions.

Currently playing on my Vita/PS3/PS4/PS5
