Vita survives Switch onslaught in Japanese charts

It comes as no surprise that the launch of the Nintendo Switch dominates the Japanese Media Create chart this week, shifting 330K units. Even so, the Vita managed to soldier on selling just below 9,900 units on the week.

Be interesting to see just how quick the Switch die off is, compared to other launches, and if it will slowly take over from Vita sales as the games start to roll out for Nintendo's new pup.

On the software front, Super Robot Wars V sold another 12,000 units, to stick in the chart at No. 11 and should pass 100K next week. In shock news there's no Minecraft on the Vita to be seen, shunted out by several Switch arrivals after many years of continued strong service.

Otome title Wand of Fortune II is out this week for the Vita in Japan.
