July Update: PlayStation 6 and PlayStation Portable future visions

 The recent PlayStation video about the "simulated" technology in development, discussed between AMD and Sony engineers that will power the PlayStation 6 was interesting from a geek point of view. But from a gameplay perspective, there is - IMO - no need for a PlayStation 6 for another few years. Especially with the limp Xbox is-it-isn't-it launch .  July 2026 Update : Sony managed a cannon-fire sized self-inflicted injury by announcing the end of physical releases across the end of the PS5 era and the launch of the PS6. Dino Dini's Kick Off Revival gets first pitch-perfect pics

Actually they're only pre-alpha, so don't get too excited, there's still lots more work to go. The classic 16-bit football game introduced deft touches, swerves and other control features that added so much freedom compared to previous soccer titles. The game is due out later this year on PS4 and the Vita.

 

Given how dinky those sprites will look on the Vita, the one feature I'd really love is a zoom in mode for one-on-ones and sliding tackles, but I bow to Mr. Dini's instinct. Follow the fun on the game's Facebook page.
