July Update: PlayStation 6 and PlayStation Portable future visions

The recent PlayStation video about the "simulated" technology in development, discussed between AMD and Sony engineers that will power the PlayStation 6 was interesting from a geek point of view. But from a gameplay perspective, there is - IMO - no need for a PlayStation 6 for another few years. Second generation Nvidia Shield portable on the way?

A German site has picked on a benchmark of a likely second attempt by Nvidia to win over portable gamers. With Sony more or less giving up, is this the way we'll go? Packing a whopping 7.8" (possible typo there, unless its a curved screen - which would be cool? Or its a tablet and the portable tag is wrong) full HD screen, huge amounts of memory in 3GB, the latest Android OS and a 2GHz quad, or even octa-core Tegra X1 CPU, it could be quite the gaming monster.

Quite a shame it'll be stuck to playing mostly generic Android games. Here's a pic of the original so stick a couple of inches on that screen for an idea, if that information is correct.

Currently playing on my Vita/PS3/PS4/PS5
