AvP dev's new title, Codename Xeno brings the alien hugs!

As one of the few Atari Jaguar owners back in the day (1994), Alien vs Predator was a terrifying glimpse into the future. In 2025, its great to see that developer Jane Whittaker is still loved by gamers, and picking up the threads with a new project. A major shame the Jaguar game never made it back into the Atari 50 collection, but anyway, moving on. 

What info we have on the new project comes from a series of recent tweets, so dive in! Codename: Xeno with a (not yet active site) Athenaworlds.co.uk is in the very early stages of development. And they are now hiring for developers and designers. 

To make things crystal clear up-front, she notes: "I want to be clear that the new game is using an entirely new IP. We are making a whole new monster hunting game and this is not the Alien licence or any attempt to copy it! It gives us MUCH more creative freedom to go crazy with our own creations!"

Also working on the project are co-founder Mike Meaden (Star Citizen, Forza) and an incredible team! Otherwise, we have a few bits of WIP art to squint at and imagine what this future holds.
