Possible new PlayStation Portal model pays homage to the Vita's OLED

While much of the focus on PlayStation's next steps is the PS6 and PS6 Portable , the two-year old PlayStation Portal could be getting a revamp according to those pesky internet rumours.  Update : Hints at pricing are around £/$250-299 for the new model, but everything remains deeply in rumours territory. Presumably to hit the 10% (currently 7%-ish) adoption rate among PS5 owners that would make it a bone fide hit gadget.   As the improvement in connectivity and streaming tech, proven by many gamers enjoying their PS5 or PlayStation Plus streamed content from around the world, an updated Portal Pro could be on the cards.  Possibly featuring a 120Hz display and an OLED screen in honour of the mighty Vita, that'd be cool. Assuming the 120HZ streaming is solid, an OLED would be the more welcome addition, especially with the latest generation of technology offering QD-OLED (Quantum Dot-OLED), WOLED (White-OLED) and other buzzy titles for smarter display.  Whatever ...

Lillymo busts Tri Breaker's balls on PlayStation and Switch

Do you remember how FuturLab evolved a classic genre with the Velocity series? I'm getting that vibe with Lillymo and Tri Breaker: A Sacred Symbols Odyssey , a semi-sequel to the eminently fun and challenging Twin Breaker that had Vita and PS4 players gnashing teeth back in 2020.

The games are loosely based on the Breakout genre, but expand it in all sorts of exciting directions, with Tri Breaker pushing new limits, just as Velocity added layers to the scrolling shooter, as you can tell from the trailer below.

The Trophy list is already up (with lots of S-rank toughies and a few fun ones for rage quitters), so I'm guessing a release is not very far away, should be before Christmas and at only $9.99, Tri Breaker looks a bit of a bargain.

To add to the original roster, Sacred Symbol co-host Dustin Furman is a new character, varied brick action and huge boss fights and extra challenges should make Tri Breaker a corker.

Tri Breaker will also arrive on Xbox, PC and should make part of a great Evercade collection, with Lillymo's Habroxia duo, if the will is there.

Currently playing on my Vita/PS3/PS4/PS5
