Bayonetta prequel brings lost demons to the Switch

Bucking the serious amount of sequelitis on show at The Game Awards, Platinum and Nintendo keep the Bayonetta party going with a fresh installment, in the form of prequel Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon. Announced at the gaming mega-event last night, there's a shiny trailer and lots of happy fans out there this morning.

This story is presented in the same cel-shaded art style as the secret level in Bayonetta 3 after going through the old picture book. It lets us rewind the Umbra Witch's story to learn her origins. In this new adventure, we take control of the younger, Cereza and her first demon Cheshire to fend off faeries and solve puzzles.

Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon releases March 17, 2023 on Nintendo Switch, ideal for those longing for more lore and beast-beating. It is already up for pre-order on the eShop at £49.99, with the rest of the trilogy all available for those who want to get into Bayonetta's bewitching adventures. Slightly better value in physical form with a download for B1 in the Bayonetta 2 box.
