July Update: PlayStation 6 and PlayStation Portable future visions

 The recent PlayStation video about the "simulated" technology in development, discussed between AMD and Sony engineers that will power the PlayStation 6 was interesting from a geek point of view. But from a gameplay perspective, there is - IMO - no need for a PlayStation 6 for another few years. Especially with the limp Xbox is-it-isn't-it launch .  July 2026 Update : Sony managed a cannon-fire sized self-inflicted injury by announcing the end of physical releases across the end of the PS5 era and the launch of the PS6. Evercade 2021 roster is complete

Wow, its only mid-May but Evercade has already completed its lineup for the year (barring surprises) with the four arcade carts. There is still news to come with what the Evercade VS pack contents will include. Hopefully there will be an arcade bundle to make it an easy buy for us avid collectors. 

Pre-orders for everything go live on May 28th, and - as long as there are no more chip delays (something that's affecting many industries - there's a solid lineup for the rest of the year. And with this new source of arcade games, plenty of developers yet to tap up for 16-bit hits, 2022 should be pretty spectacular. 


Of course, that might mean we are pretty light on official Evercade news for the rest of the year. But that gives me plenty of time to highlight my favourite games from the new and existing collections, do some comparisons and play more guess what's coming!
