PSP2, Switch 2 and an Xbox handheld... a brighter portable future?

GRIP Combat Racing puts down rubber on Switch

Many years ago there was a futuristic racing game on PC from Ubisoft called POD, one of the first to use graphics accelerators. Later came the likes of Rollcage and many others, as 3D power grew. GRIP Combat Racing from Wired seems to riff on those, but brings all the modern trimmings to the Switch with split-screen mode, 10-player online and lots of visual gloss.

Cars race on the walls and ceilings of fast-paced tracks, with a stonking soundtrack. The game is out next week on Switch. Reckon the split-screen will make this serious family fun, and give it an edge over all the cutesy racers out there.
