July Update: PlayStation 6 and PlayStation Portable future visions

 The recent PlayStation video about the "simulated" technology in development, discussed between AMD and Sony engineers that will power the PlayStation 6 was interesting from a geek point of view. But from a gameplay perspective, there is - IMO - no need for a PlayStation 6 for another few years. Especially with the limp Xbox is-it-isn't-it launch .  July 2026 Update : Sony managed a cannon-fire sized self-inflicted injury by announcing the end of physical releases across the end of the PS5 era and the launch of the PS6. Blasting Agent is a fun pixel arcade run-and-gun game that Ratalaika is bringing to the Vita and PS4 soon. Here's a very quick peek at it in action. There's trouble in Antarctica as the Black Hand of Fate, an international terrorist group build a secret base within the heart of a volcano.

Blasting Agent is an action-platformer straight out of the eight-bit era. There's plenty of action, many different types of enemies with surprisingly smart AI, six extremely well-designed stages with plenty of replay value, huge bosses, collectibles, hidden upgrades, unlockable power-ups, and a second harder game! Despite its old-school difficulty it never gets unfair: plenty of checkpoints, unlimited lives, and a level select screen will help all kinds of players overcome any obstacle.
