Vectrex Mini interview - David Oghia talks up the nostalgic vector powerhouse

Having been wowed by the news of the Vectrex Mini at Gamescom , I rushed off some questions to VectrexOn's main man  David Oghia . After a post-event, well earned, break, he's kindly given us a lot of detail about the project and some new images of the unit to share.  His story mirrors mine somewhat, Vectrex represents a glowing, unaffordable, obelisk of gaming power from our youth! But he's had the energy and drive to do something about it, and met the right people to get the job done!  What first got you interested in Vectrex and what spawned the idea of a Mini version? Adventures of Mana not coming to English Vitas

Out today in Japan, for Vita, iOS and Android, this remake of a classic Gameboy RPG, has picked up a gorgeous 3D makeover and rearranged music. Known as Seiken Densetsu (English homepage) over there, alas, we won't get to play it on Sony's handheld.

The Vita version is for Japan only, click the Japanese version of the site to see it blinking hopefully at us. Given the western love of most things Final Fantasy, raw economics can be the only reason Square Enix is coding an English version for smartphone.

UPDATE: Hold that thought Square Enix's EU Twitter account is asking for feedback on the English version. I'm not saying my angst made any difference, but go comment on their blog to have your voice heard.
Perhaps if there's enough interest they will see the error of their ways and let us play too!

Their message reads, "Thank you for all of your comments on a PS Vita edition of Adventures of Mana. We’ve been listening to your feedback and because of your passion for the game, we’re going to look into making a PS Vita version of Adventures of Mana for the west. We can’t guarantee we’ll be able to make this happen but we will see what we can do."
