July Update: PlayStation 6 and PlayStation Portable future visions

 The recent PlayStation video about the "simulated" technology in development, discussed between AMD and Sony engineers that will power the PlayStation 6 was interesting from a geek point of view. But from a gameplay perspective, there is - IMO - no need for a PlayStation 6 for another few years. Especially with the limp Xbox is-it-isn't-it launch .  July 2026 Update : Sony managed a cannon-fire sized self-inflicted injury by announcing the end of physical releases across the end of the PS5 era and the launch of the PS6. Sony Japan gets stuck Vita gamers chatting on iOS and Android

If only life were that simple in the west. Now Vita gamers in Japan have a dedicated mobile app for getting help when they're stuck in a game. For now it works with Soul Sacrifice, but I suspect the presence of man-in-hat, means it'll work with all monster slaying type games soon enough.

Quite why it needs four minutes of advert to sell the concept of Kyoutou Guild is beyond me, but if Japanese gamers want to smile winningly at each other through their smartphones, then who are we to argue? Chances of a western version are probably slim.
