July Update: PlayStation 6 and PlayStation Portable future visions

 The recent PlayStation video about the "simulated" technology in development, discussed between AMD and Sony engineers that will power the PlayStation 6 was interesting from a geek point of view. But from a gameplay perspective, there is - IMO - no need for a PlayStation 6 for another few years. As you walk through the valleys of God Eater 2, carry a damn big stick

The God Eater 2 playing masses in Japan have been hard at work putting up videos of their exploits on YouTube. These real play clips show a slightly different side to the game from Namco's own clips, presumably created by the developers or using pro-level players.

There's a bit more mayhem, and swapping of weapons, which means ending up up-close with the guns and out of range with the hammer. And, of course, there's the squad shooting themselves to pieces after the battle and the trudging wait for the bout to end.

Reports from Japan say the Vita version sold just over 75% of its copies, shifting over 250,000 copies. That should leave enough for a decent second-week performance, and hopefully restocking will see it hold on to the No. 1 spot.
