July Update: PlayStation 6 and PlayStation Portable future visions

 The recent PlayStation video about the "simulated" technology in development, discussed between AMD and Sony engineers that will power the PlayStation 6 was interesting from a geek point of view. But from a gameplay perspective, there is - IMO - no need for a PlayStation 6 for another few years. Especially with the limp Xbox is-it-isn't-it launch .  July 2026 Update : Sony managed a cannon-fire sized self-inflicted injury by announcing the end of physical releases across the end of the PS5 era and the launch of the PS6. A new Sonic game headed to the Vita?

No idea what the game is but Sonic Team is supposed to announce a new title next month. However, a list of formats already doing the rounds includes the Vita, and after Sumo Digital's top job on Sonic All-Stars Transformed, why not?



More at Sonic Stadium, who categorize it as a level-based, multi-character game with the Vita version being the same as the big consoles and the 3DS getting a cut-down version, chortle! Players can use different characters to access new parts of each level, so far so Sonic! Hope to hear much more next month.
