July Update: PlayStation 6 and PlayStation Portable future visions

 The recent PlayStation video about the "simulated" technology in development, discussed between AMD and Sony engineers that will power the PlayStation 6 was interesting from a geek point of view. But from a gameplay perspective, there is - IMO - no need for a PlayStation 6 for another few years. Especially with the limp Xbox is-it-isn't-it launch .  July 2026 Update : Sony managed a cannon-fire sized self-inflicted injury by announcing the end of physical releases across the end of the PS5 era and the launch of the PS6. Sony Bend working on another Vita game

A recent job posting suggests internal studio Bend, the folks behind the awesome Uncharted Golden Abyss are working on another title or two. Here's hoping its an original game that doesn't leech of an existing franchise.


No real clues in the blurb, "Bend Studio - creators of Sony’s flagship Vita title Uncharted Golden Abyss is currently looking for the entertainment industry's top artistic talent to help us create AAA content for Sony’s powerful new hardware. We just scratched the surface on what the Vita can do with Uncharted Golden Abyss and expect to push the platform even further with our future projects."

There's a great read about the making of Uncharted on Gamasutra, it makes me want to go back and play it all over again.
