July Update: PlayStation 6 and PlayStation Portable future visions

 The recent PlayStation video about the "simulated" technology in development, discussed between AMD and Sony engineers that will power the PlayStation 6 was interesting from a geek point of view. But from a gameplay perspective, there is - IMO - no need for a PlayStation 6 for another few years. Especially with the limp Xbox is-it-isn't-it launch .  July 2026 Update : Sony managed a cannon-fire sized self-inflicted injury by announcing the end of physical releases across the end of the PS5 era and the launch of the PS6. Gran Turismo PSP sold 3.8 million, where's the Vita version?

Digital Polyphony is celebrating endless sales of the Gran Turismo series, which notched up a healthy 3.86 million for the rather limp-wristed but good looking PSP version. While that's not up there with the 8+ million sales of the PS2 and PS3 versions, we know the Vita can do better and we know that Sony has unannounced games to come.

So, what do you think the Vita version, if ever made, would look like? A composite of A-Spec and an expanded Prologue 5 would be my guess, I don't expect all the cars and tracks of the PS3 latest and greatest, just the best of the cars and tracks, and some corking multiplayer racing. Is that doable? Does DP have the time between now and GT6 for PS4?

What would you like to see from the series or does NFS Most Wanted better represent the needs of the modern gamer?
