July Update: PlayStation 6 and PlayStation Portable future visions

 The recent PlayStation video about the "simulated" technology in development, discussed between AMD and Sony engineers that will power the PlayStation 6 was interesting from a geek point of view. But from a gameplay perspective, there is - IMO - no need for a PlayStation 6 for another few years. Especially with the limp Xbox is-it-isn't-it launch .  July 2026 Update : Sony managed a cannon-fire sized self-inflicted injury by announcing the end of physical releases across the end of the PS5 era and the launch of the PS6. Among all the big new games, don't forget Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward

Just a quick reminder that while all the big-name games are getting the adverts, the air-time and all the fuss, the best rated game on the Vita right now is ChunSoft's Zero Escape, the sequel to 999. With a metacritic score of 89% it is easily beating the likes of Need for Speed, Assassin's Creed and Black Ops in the reviews stakes.



There's a demo on PSN to try out the visual novel medium if you're new to it, and the game is pretty cheap too, some more articles here. The game is out this week in Europe, published by the ace Rising Star Games who deserve our support if they'll continue to bring games like this to the Vita.
