July Update: PlayStation 6 and PlayStation Portable future visions

 The recent PlayStation video about the "simulated" technology in development, discussed between AMD and Sony engineers that will power the PlayStation 6 was interesting from a geek point of view. But from a gameplay perspective, there is - IMO - no need for a PlayStation 6 for another few years. Especially with the limp Xbox is-it-isn't-it launch .  July 2026 Update : Sony managed a cannon-fire sized self-inflicted injury by announcing the end of physical releases across the end of the PS5 era and the launch of the PS6. Metal Gear HD hitting western PS Vitas June 12

Wow, June is looking to be a pretty good month for the PS Vita with Resistance: Burning Skies, Gravity Rush and now Metal Gear HD Edition joining Batman 2, Doctor Who and a smattering of smaller games. Hopefully the EU release won't be far behind and with a decent E3 behind it (hey, you never know) the PS Vita could start to sell some units.

UPDATE: Just confirmed Europe gets this at the same time, excellent!


Check out the game in action here, remember there's no Peace Walker in this version, but we still get MGS2 and 3, plus the original Metal Gear 8-bit games and a bunch of other goodies.
