Vectrex Mini interview - David Oghia talks up the nostalgic vector powerhouse

Having been wowed by the news of the Vectrex Mini at Gamescom , I rushed off some questions to VectrexOn's main man  David Oghia . After a post-event, well earned, break, he's kindly given us a lot of detail about the project and some new images of the unit to share.  His story mirrors mine somewhat, Vectrex represents a glowing, unaffordable, obelisk of gaming power from our youth! But he's had the energy and drive to do something about it, and met the right people to get the job done!  What first got you interested in Vectrex and what spawned the idea of a Mini version? I’ve always been passionate about retro-gaming, but my first love was computers rather than consoles — the ZX81, then the Commodore 128. I only really discovered the console world in the late 90s, which is when I got my very first Vectrex. Uncharted and FIFA Vita titles stick in the UK top ten

While EA's mega-marketed new SSX game storms to the No. 1 spot, both the Vita's senior launch games manage to remain in the top ten, hinting that sales aren't dropping off a cliff as with the Japanese launch. Or, perhaps UK games sales are as poor as the continued struggles at UK retailer GAME suggests.

1 – SSX
2 – FIFA 12
3 – Mario Party 9
4 – Uncharted: Golden Abyss
5 – Mario and Sonic at the London Olympics
6 – UFC Undisputed 3
7 – Modern Warfare 3
8 – FIFA Football
9 – Assassin’s Creed: Revelations
10 – Battlefield 3

Either way, in an every sale counts market, its positive to see the titles not plummet out of sight. Wonder how many MotorStorm RC has sold on Vita, I think we should be told! Unit 13 is out this week as the first post-launch decent title, where will that land?
