July Update: PlayStation 6 and PlayStation Portable future visions

The recent PlayStation video about the "simulated" technology in development, discussed between AMD and Sony engineers that will power the PlayStation 6 was interesting from a geek point of view. But from a gameplay perspective, there is - IMO - no need for a PlayStation 6 for another few years. Especially with the limp Xbox is-it-isn't-it launch .  July 2026 Update : Sony managed a cannon-fire sized self-inflicted injury by announcing the end of physical releases across the end of the PS5 era and the launch of the PS6. Sony Bringing PS2 Games to PSN

Having ripped the ability from recent PlayStation 3 models to play PS2 games, Sony is now going to milk the classics cow a little further by introducing a new range of PS2 games on the PSN. First thought out of my cloudy Monday-morning mind - I bet these will play well on the PS Vita!

According to EuroGamer:
"a selection of "rare classic" PlayStation 2 titles made available to download: God Hand, GrimGrimoire, Maximo: Ghosts to Glory, Odin Sphere and Ring of Red. Will Sony now bring PS2 games to PS3 games on a regular basis?"

Sure, the downloads of most PS2 games are pretty chunky, but hardcore gamers will be stacking on PS Vita memory and it will also bring a better shine to PlayStation Suite, whenever that finally happens, as I'm sure the Xperia Play and Sony Tablets could handle them too.

Currently playing on my Vita/PS3/PS4/PS5
