July Update: PlayStation 6 and PlayStation Portable future visions

 The recent PlayStation video about the "simulated" technology in development, discussed between AMD and Sony engineers that will power the PlayStation 6 was interesting from a geek point of view. But from a gameplay perspective, there is - IMO - no need for a PlayStation 6 for another few years. Especially with the limp Xbox is-it-isn't-it launch .  July 2026 Update : Sony managed a cannon-fire sized self-inflicted injury by announcing the end of physical releases across the end of the PS5 era and the launch of the PS6. Sony Updating PlayStation Android/iPhone App

Sony's PlayStation App is pretty useless for PSP owners but should be of more interest when the PSV gets going, but at least you can keep an eye on the Sony Blog when you're out and about. Now you can also add comments and rate articles plus some other bits and bobs in the new version, out now.



If Sony is interested in social media and being a part of the collective, then it can always get its arse in gear and respond to this. It would be good to see some people power getting them to do things that gamers would like to see.
