Fight for the future

Polite Plea: After almost seven years and 7,000 articles, the number of stories is slowing down. Time and developers move on, but I'll always be posting, as the Vita becomes the new Dreamcast.
However, I do need a new Vita as my launch day model is starting to show its age. Please consider clicking an ad to help my new Vita fund!
Once reached, hopefully in time for Christmas, I will remove all adverts, leaving this island of Vita life an ad-free oasis!

Slain confirmed for 2016 Vita release

Indie retro slasher fest Slain from Wolf Brew was funded on Kickstarter with a possible Vita version. That's now been confirmed by the dev team (all two of them) with a new trailer featuring all the blood you could want on a Friday morning, and a cracking theme by ex-Celtic Frost (Swiss metallers) Curt Victor Bryant.

A gothic combat-puzzle platform adventure, it sees you in the bloody boots of Bathoryn, a hero in a Gothic world, seeking to liberate seven great towers from their deadly overlords. Bathoryn must battle his way through a doomed land packed with gruesome pixel art foes before ascending (or sometimes descending) each tower, defeating puzzles, traps and monsters alike.

At the heart of each tower, he must confront a mighty overlord. Defeat it and Bathoryn’s quest continues. Fail, and you’ll die gruesomely – mauled by werewolves, disintegrated by floating monstrosities, squashed by great weights or torn apart by hidden blades. And you will fail…
