PSP2, Switch 2 and an Xbox handheld... a brighter portable future?

PlayStation Now hits open beta in UK, but not on Vita

Sony has announced an open beta for its PlayStation Now subscription streaming service for UK customers. Those on PS3 and PS4 can jump right in. Those using a range of Bravia TVs, can join in the fun later today.

Vita users, I'm afraid we're out in the cold, with the press release not even mentioning Sony's handheld. There's still a Vita on Sony's PlayStation Now page, but that's probably just a legacy.

New Sony 4K TV buyers can get a free DualShock 4 controller 30 days free (of a beta service? how kind!) via a Sony offer.

The beta has a range of games priced from £2.99 and £7.99 to rent for 48 hours or 30 days. Examples include, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, The Last of Us and God of War: Ascension from Sony, Bioshock Infinite, Final Fantasy XIII, Tomb Raider Underworld and others from third parties.
