Vectrex Mini interview - David Oghia talks up the nostalgic vector powerhouse

Having been wowed by the news of the Vectrex Mini at Gamescom , I rushed off some questions to VectrexOn's main man  David Oghia . After a post-event, well earned, break, he's kindly given us a lot of detail about the project and some new images of the unit to share.  His story mirrors mine somewhat, Vectrex represents a glowing, unaffordable, obelisk of gaming power from our youth! But he's had the energy and drive to do something about it, and met the right people to get the job done!  What first got you interested in Vectrex and what spawned the idea of a Mini version? I’ve always been passionate about retro-gaming, but my first love was computers rather than consoles — the ZX81, then the Commodore 128. I only really discovered the console world in the late 90s, which is when I got my very first Vectrex. Flem flicks onto your PSM screen

I've pretty much given up looking though PSM games on a weekly basis, there seems to be such a collection of dross. Then this piqued my curiosity, firstly because its down for a rather brave £7.99 price point, and it stars a bogie! A hardcore speed-running platformer, it comes from Henchman and Goon, and looks like a retro dream.

The booger ball (to use the American term) Flem is stranded in a strange new world after the calamity of the Great Sneeze. Shaken and alone, but unafraid, He sets out on a journey to find his lost people in the Land Of Eternal Tissue.

 Run and jump through four seasons while avoiding the hostile environment and discover Flem's hidden snot powers, including the ability to turn himself into a cloud. Earn medals based on your best time through each level and compete with other players through leaderboards. Are you gonna go for gold or just try to stay alive?
