Vectrex Mini interview - David Oghia talks up the nostalgic vector powerhouse

Having been wowed by the news of the Vectrex Mini at Gamescom , I rushed off some questions to VectrexOn's main man  David Oghia . After a post-event, well earned, break, he's kindly given us a lot of detail about the project and some new images of the unit to share.  His story mirrors mine somewhat, Vectrex represents a glowing, unaffordable, obelisk of gaming power from our youth! But he's had the energy and drive to do something about it, and met the right people to get the job done!  What first got you interested in Vectrex and what spawned the idea of a Mini version? Sony's Xperia Z3 devices also do Remote Play

Chipping away at the Vita's unique selling points, Sony's latest range of Xperia Z3 smartphones, revealed at IFA Berlin can also do Remote Play. Admittedly, not as elegantly, thanks to the rather tacky looking connector, but the new Compact and full-size smartphones can carry on the PS4 gaming in another room while the girls scoff popcorn!

If Sony does want to upgrade the Vita's specs with a new, more powerful edition, then the Z3 offers a reasonable benchmark to aim at. The new model boasts a 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) Triluminous display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz and 3GB of RAM, plus 16 or 32GB of internal storage. Cut out all the cellphone gubbins and I'm sure costs could be kept down.
